The Puerto Rican Cultural Resource Center

The Puerto Rican Cultural Resource Center captures the essence and flavor of the Caribbean Islands, whose people began settling in Hawai'i in December of 1900.

We invite you to visit the Puerto Rican Cultural Center. You will find an antique food safe circa from 1910, and musical instruments including a cuatro, guiro, and maracas. The displays implement detailing life on Maui's plantations.

There are souvenir buttons from various districts in Puerto Rico from where Hawaii's Puerto Ricans hail. Handle an old coffee grinder, heavy charcoal irons, etc. You can also leaf through photo albums of the Maui Puerto Rican Association dating back to 1981. You will be amazed at what you find!

Anyone who may be interested in visiting the Puerto Rican Cultural Resource Center needs to make a reservation in advance. Please call and/or e-mail the Maui Puerto Rican Association (MPRA) for more details and to make the reservation.
